Strategic Advice and Business Planning - USL can work with you to clearly set out your business vision by defining a strategy and a series of planned changes to which every programme and project contributes. This process might include the development of a business case and option appraisals to support board decision making.

Programme & Project Management - USL can work with you to determine the end-to-end process needed to translate strategy into delivery plans, into desired outcomes and to subsequently manage the Programme. USL can also deliver individual projects through a controlled, well-managed, visible set of activities such as: determining roles and responsibilities, milestones and resources; identifying stakeholders and interdependencies and; managing delivery and project budgets.

Procurement & Supply Chain Management - USL can work with you to determine the most suitable approach to procuring services to support outcomes, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, EC procurement rules & NHS Policy.  Procurement advice can then extend to the development of procurement documentation, managing the tendering process through to appointment of a Provider.

Contract Advice, Management & Negotiations – closely tied to the procurement process, USL offer advice on a variety of forms of contract, including NHS Standard Contracts and Department of Health Independent Sector Treatment Centre contracts.  Advice may be needed to look at the termination of contracts, triggering action from a Provider; varying a contract, etc.  USL also have extensive experience in mobilising and managing contracts on behalf of clients to support compliance; innovation and cost savings. 

Estates & Capital Project Advice – USL  have extensive experience of reviewing NHS Estate and advising on both strategic planning and implementation of those plans to achieve best value from assets within the health economy. This advice ranges from day to day issues associated with running an estate to  high level planning associated with the Qipp programme and the TCS programme. We have and continue to work with NHS Trusts, PCT's and SHA's.
